Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do gift vouchers?

All my treatments can be bought as a gift voucher. It's easy, you'll transfer the money, and I'll send you the voucher, by email or snail mail. Of cause you can also send a cheque.

Do you take cards?

Yes, I do, from Mid-February 2015. Just bought a card reader. Can also pay by cash, cheque, balance transfer or standing order.

Where are you based?

I am on Carlton Hill in Nottingham. My practice is a short bus ride on the lilac line from Nottingham City Centre with one minute walk from the bus stop. I offer secure bicycle parking. There is on-street car parking and a public car park. The car park is free for two hours, but you'll need to get a ticket at the machine.

Touching Well Super Home

Do you have a clinic?

I have a treatment room set up in my home. As a matter of fact we bought the house because one room in particular  makes a wonderful treatment room. We have made the house more energy efficient with external insulation, double glazing, and, best of all, a wood burning stove. To find out more, click on the picture.

Do you teach massage?

I can teach massage on an informal basis, which means that you organize a group of friends (minimum 2 of you) and ask me to teach you to massage each other. This will not lead to a recognized qualification, but is good fun and useful for easing aches and pains on each other. I can also teach for a recognized massage qualification (in conjunction with a colleague). This requires a lot of commitment in time and money from all involved

Do you offer "sensual" massage?

All massage is sensual - after all, you are experiencing massage through your sense of touch. But if you are after "extras", or a full body massage, don't bother. The answer is NO.

Can I have pregnancy massage in the first three months?

Yes, you can. It will help you to settle into the pregnancy, calm you down, maybe even ease your morning sickness. Of cause the massage would be tailored to you at this precious time.

Can MLD (or massage) get rid of my cellulite?

Unfortunately not - I don't think I can make that unfashionable look go away unless I train as a cosmetic surgeon (even then I am skeptical). While massage does not make the cellulite go away, it tones your tissue, you get temporary improvements, and you will feel better.

Here are three things you can do:

  • Start the day with the juice of half a lemon. According to Chinese medicine this supports your liver beautifully.
  • Skin brush - every morning, brush towards the heart, starting at the top of the legs/arms and work your way towards your feet/hands.
  • Weleda Birch cellulite oil twice a day on damp skin in combination of Weleda's Birch juice for one month. The cellulite oil is Weleda's best selling product in France. You can order it through Touching Well.

You can contact me on 0115 8457113, or via the contact form. I look forward to hearing from you.
